Breakfast Criteria & Scoring

We are on the hunt for the ultimate Scottish Breakfast in the Ross & Cromarty area and we might occasionally venture into Inverness. We will be reviewing breakfasts and rating them from 1 to 5 stars on the quality of the breakfast itself. Service issues will not be deducted from the star score but it will be mentioned in the review. The breakfast must include what we believe are the basic ingredients to score 2 stars. Points will then be awarded or deducted from this base line of 2 stars.

The classification of the Ultimate Scottish Breakfast was decided after a number of discussion on what we feel would be the best combination of ingredients to achieve Ultimate Scottish Breakfast greatness.

The Star System

5 Stars will only be given for the Ultimate Full Scottish Breakfast.
4 Stars – See Deductions and Additions below.
3 Stars – See Deductions and Additions below.
2 Stars is the starting point for the Basic Full Scottish Breakfast.
1 Star will be given to a breakfast that falls short of the basics for a Full Scottish Breakfast.

Deductions of stars will occur for quality of produce, any cooking errors or missing items.

Addition of stars will be given for additional items beyond the Basic Full Scottish Breakfast and the quality of produce.
